UNESCO organizes a training in collection management software in Kuwait City

Within the framework of the project “Preservation and Promotion of Kuwait’s Cultural Heritage” and in collaboration with National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL), UNDP in Kuwait, Supreme Council for Planning and Delivery (SCPD) and Kuwait National Museum (KNM), UNESCO conducted a training in collection management software for museum professionals in Kuwait, from 30 June-4 July 2018.

The five-day long training was provided by Axiell trainer for eight museum specialists from NCCAL including an IT expert and the team from the National Museum that will be responsible for data entry and maintenance of the collection management system. Installation of the Adlib software and training course provided are part of the efforts to ensure a reliable collection management system is in place for NCCAL museums and galleries including the National Museum.

The UNESCO Regional Office for the GCC countries and Yemen in implementing the project “Preservation and Promotion of Kuwait’s Cultural Heritage” in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL), the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD) and UNDP in Kuwait. The project aims at supporting the burgeoning culture and arts sector in Kuwait. UNESCO and partners will support the Government’s endeavors to preserve and promote their cultural heritage through technical assistance aimed at strengthening cultural policy, institutions, management and planning in partnership with UNDP, NCCAL and in the museum sector in particular.
