Call for proposals:UNESCO/IFESCCO “Arts Education in CIS Countries: Building Creative Capacities for 21st Century”
CALL FOR PROPOSALS under the UNESCO/IFESCCO Project for: Organization and conduction of the Second Regional Expert Meeting with international participation “Issues and Prospects of Arts Education and Education through Art in CIS countries: Building Creative Capacities for XXI Century” and launching of the informational resource “Observatory of Arts Education in CIS Countries” (23-26 May 2013, Minsk, Belarus)
Within the framework of the UNESCO/IFESCCO Pilot Project “Arts Education in CIS Countries: Building Creative Capacities for 21st Century” (2009-2014) the UNESCO Moscow Office invites interested organizations to submit the letter of interest in preparation and holding of the Second Regional Expert Meeting with international participation “Issues and Prospects of Arts Education and Education through Art in CIS countries: Building Creative Capacities for XXI Century” to be conducted within the International Arts Education Week (4th week of May), and managing development process and arranging the official launching of the informational resource “Observatory of Arts Education in CIS Countries”.
The UNESCO/IFESCCO project on Arts Education in CIS countries aims at the reinforcing of quality of arts education and education through art with consideration of the international experience and UNESCO documents adopted within the 1st and the 2nd World Conferences on Arts Education, supporting creativity and diversity of arts and crafts in the CIS countries through conducting a thorough research on existing systems, current programmes and development trends, and preparing respective national analytical reports on arts education by leading experts in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, following up with comparative studies and elaboration of recommendations on further development of arts education systems.
The Second Regional expert meeting will be conducted with the aim to ensure sustainability of the UNESCO/IFESCCO Project results and will present all the reached results and objectives of the Project with involvement of representatives of all the levels of arts education, including formal and informal, pre-school, secondary, higher and professional education in the field of culture and arts from the CIS countries. Enhancing the interaction between the Ministries of Culture and the Ministries of Education of the involved countries will be one of the main aims of the event with a view to promote achieved results in regard to the cultural policy development with consideration of international documents, including the UNESCO “Road Map for Arts Education” and the “Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of arts Education” (adopted at the 2nd World Conference on Arts Education in May 2010), as well as the Concept of Education in the Field of Culture and Arts of the CIS Member States and the Recommendations on Legislative Provision of the Development of Arts Education in the CIS Member States (adopted at the 34 Plenary Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States on 7 April 2010).
The Second Regional expert meeting on Arts Education in CIS countries will be also focused on the elaboration of the Plan of Actions on partnerships with consideration of national strategies of CIS countries on the development of arts education and education through arts, and will include an official launching of the informational resource “Observatory of Arts Education in CIS Countries”.
Duration of the project implementation: 20 March - 20 September 2013
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of UNESCO priorities and guidelines in the field of arts education
- Experience in cooperation with governmental and research institutions;
- Experience in organization of international high level events;
- Experience in and knowledge of international activities in the field of arts education, including the World Conferences on Arts Education (Lisbon 2006; Seoul 2010)
- Experience in analysis and development of arts education strategies;
- Ability to systematize data and elaborate new approaches;
- Technical facilities for managing development process and arranging the official launching of the informational resource “Observatory of Arts Education in CIS Countries” in Russian and English languages;
- Capacities to ensure translation, editing and proof-reading in Russian and English.
NB!
The letter of interest should include the confirmation of expertise in the field of arts education with detailed relevant information and references, as well as the budget estimate for the implementation of the above mentioned activities with indication of the in-kind contribution of the organization and expected contribution from UNESCO.
