L’OREAL-UNESCO awarded 10 fellowships to young women in science
National L’OREAL-UNESCO fellowship award ceremony for young women in science was held in Balchug-Kempinsky Hotel on November 10, 2009. 10 women from different Russian cities were announced to become prize winners. The partners in the Competition-2009 were L’OREAL Russia, the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the UNESCO Moscow Office and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Russian national L’OREAL-UNESCO fellowships “For Women in Science” were awarded for the third time. Applicants for the national fellowships were women in science below 35 years old, holding Ph.D and working in Russian scientific research institutes. More than 420 applications from 70 Russian cities were received in 2009, which was 30 % more than in 2008. The Jury selected 10 research works. 10 young women in science were awarded L’OREAL-UNESCO national fellowships:
