The Use of Theatre Art in Youth HIV Prevention

The Collection of Methodological Materials “The Use of Theatre Art in HIV Prevention among Youth” was published by the Republican Public Organization “Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs” within the frameworks of the UNESCO Moscow Office pilot project “Contemporary Art in Response to HIV and AIDS”.

The Collection of Methodological Materials “The Use of Theatre Art in HIV Prevention among Youth” was published by the Republican Public Organization “Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs” within the frameworks of the UNESCO Moscow Office pilot project “Contemporary Art in Response to HIV and AIDS”.

The Collection was specially worked out for usage at secondary and vocational-technical schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, out-of-school educational institutions, and was addressed to organizers of HIV and AIDS prevention activity for youth.

The collection contains general theoretical review of the HIV and AIDS issues, including their social, economical and psychological aspects, as well as practical materials for HIV prevention based on example of implementing a technology of organizing and conducting the “Forum-Theatre” being an interactive technique of the youth collective work.

The best scenarios prepared by the participants of the International Summer University of the UNESCO Clubs project, which took place in 2007, were also included into the collection, as well as the list of helpful literature for organizers and general recommendations on organizing preventive activity on HIV and AIDS problem among younger people using resources of culture.

The publication is a part of the UNESCO’s strategic directions of activity “Culture, HIV and AIDS” and was made with the aim to widen cultural toolkit used in HIV/AIDS campaigns.
