Access to Information

Access to information –to maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge

UNESCO Communication and Information Sector supports actions designed to empower people so that they can access and contribute to information and knowledge flows as well as create an enabling environment. UNESCO also helps developing effective "infostructures", including developing information standards and management tools, strengthening libraries and archives key actors in knowledge societies, and fostering access at the community level.

The UNESCO Moscow Office actively works in the cluster countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation – to promote ideas of universal access to information and knowledge as well as to strengthen the information culture of an individual and to foster the switchover to digital technologies and its impact on the future of Public Service Broadcasting.
