Arts Education in CIS countries
Taking into account the importance of Arts education and education through Arts for social and cultural development of personality and its role in supporting and promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, UNESCO and the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO) are supporting the pilot long-term project “Arts Education in CIS countries: Building Creative Capacities for the 21st Century” (2009-2014).
Celebrating the Volga Day on 20 May for the fifth time
For the fifth time the population of the Volga Basin will celebrate the Volga Day. Seminars, youth meetings, concerts and environmental games will be organized on 17-20 May 2012 in the framework of the joint UNESCO/Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia programme “the Living Volga”.

Round table on Promotion of Prevention Education. Kiev, Ukraine
A round table discussion on the issues related to scaling-up prevention education and protection from discrimination HIV-affected and infected learners and educators was initiated and organized on November 10-11 in Kiev (Ukraine) by the UNESCO Moscow Office jointly with UNFPA Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The UNESCO/IFESCCO Project “Running a Museum – 21st century”
The Project “Running a Museum: 21st Century” is designed and implemented within the frame of the Agreement between UNESCO and the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO) on Cooperation in the Field of Museum Development in the CIS countries. The project aims to strengthen social, economic and educational roles of museums for sustainable development and to increase capacity of museum professionals in the CIS countries.
