The Fifth Session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage was held in Nairobi, Kenya from 15 to 19 November 2010

The meeting which attracted over 450 delagates from all over the world was the first to be held in sub-Saharan Africa. Kenya is taking an active role in the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage of its people.
