BEAR II flyer of the project

The Better Education for Africa's Rise project, supported by South Korea (US$ 10 million) is a UNESCO’s project, promoting skills development and youth employment in Africa.

Its second phase, BEAR II, was formulated in 2017 and being implemented from 2018 to 2021.The aim of BEAR II is to strengthen access to decent employment and generate self-employment for young people, by improving the quality, relevance and perception of the national TVET systems in the five countries.

In Ethiopia, the BEAR project activities are focused on the agro-processing sector; in Kenya, it focuses on the environmental sector, green jobs creation and environmental preservation; in Madagascar, the focus is on the textiles industry; in the United Republic of Tanzania the BEAR project gives attention to the agribusiness and creative industries, and in Uganda it is concentrating on post-harvest management and agro food processing.
