Research and monitoring
The site is one of the most extensively-studied protected areas in the country. The aim of long-term monitoring is to document effects of initiated management measures and potential long-term trends in changes. Monitoring activities also reflect the need to report on favourable conservation status of the area.

Different existing zonation
Core area consists of strict nature reserves (6,122 ha) and nature reserves (3,088 ha). The buffer zone consists of ecosystem restoration zone (2,198 ha), ecological protection zone (1,902 ha), and forestry and agriculture zone (5,180 ha).
