Rèserve de biophère Lubéron-Lure

In 2010 the Lubéron-Lure biosphere reserve carried out its periodic review. This report was lauded by the International Coordinating Council at the 22nd session, held from 31 May to 4 June 2010, which recommended that the periodic review report be distributed throughout the World Network of Biosphere Reserves as an example of best practice. This report has also made it possible to progress with a participative approach which was put in place at the time of this review. It is a dynamic methodology which makes it possible to bring together the actors of a site around a project and, thus, to hold constructive debates on possible problem areas. This technique was lauded by the International Coordinating Council, which stated that it should be shared throughout the Network.

The Macquarie Island biosphere reserve has been withdrawn from the World Network of Biosphere Reserves in line with the recommendations of the periodic review carried out in 2003.
