This course is comprised of two integrated modules that aim to make a profound difference in your capacity to work for sustainable development, with the landscape as your arena and the biosphere reserve concept as one of your tools. The course will give you a deep insight into the concepts of sustainability and biosphere reserves, and help you understand how to put theory into practice.

The course is a single-subject course at advanced level offered by the Department of Economy and Society, Human Geography Unit - School of Business Economics and Law, at the University of Gothenburg.

This Masters Course is offered to Biosphere Reserve Coordinators, Biosphere Reserve Management, and professionals that work with landscape-based management such as planners, consultants and conservationists.

The course comprises approximately six months of part-time study. It will include two separate weeks in the Lake Vänern Archipelago and Mount Kinnekulle Biosphere Rereserves (Mariestad, Sweden). In addition, the University of Gothenburg’s web-based learning platform (GUL) will be used for e-learning, interaction, presentations and feedback.
