Teaching Resource Kit for Mountain Countries
This environmental education kit for mountain countries is intended for secondary (and late primary) school teachers and their pupils.
Prepared by UNESCO’s Division of Ecological and Earth Sciences under its Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, the kit offers a creative approach to environmental education and is designed to arouse pupils's curiosity, appeal to their artistic sensibilities, and provide a leverage for better transmission of scientific information and environmental knowledge.
The kit has been distributed to schools in mountain countries through the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPNet). Hard copies of the kit are available on request.
The kit feeds into activities developed as part of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014), the promotion of which falls within UNESCO's fields of competence.
UNESCO is very grateful for the generous financial contribution from the Flemish Government of Belgium which has made possible the preparation and production of the kit.
