Capacity Building on Water and Sustainable Development

WWAP provides knowledge-based workshops, tools and policy recommendations at the national and regional levels in order to develop capacity of both, water professionals and policy-makers on sustainable water resources management.

With the financial support of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFund), UN WWAP UNESCO developed a Capacity Development Programme focusing on “Water and Sustainable Development” aiming at supporting the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly SDG 6 on “Clean water and sanitation”.

This Capacity Development Programme aims at enhancing countries’ capacity to deal with water challenges in a complex world environment. The workshop provides policy makers with tools for assessing water data, managing water resources and competing users, dealing with extreme events and with the challenge of growing urban environments.

The programme target audience addresses medium-high level officers/decision-makers and senior water managers of water-related governmental institutions.

Two sections of the programme (Workshop I and Workshop II) were hold by WWAP focusing on African Countries with the support of AGFund. If you are interested in reproducing this workshop, do not hesitate to contact us.
