The Italian school at The World Water Forum

In view of The World Water Forum that will take place in Brasilia (Brazil) from the 18th to 23rd of March, the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) promotes a satellite event entirely dedicated to young students and water issues, as a key element for sustainable development.

The initiative involves one-hundred high school students, coming from fifteen Italian Schools, and it takes place at WWAP Secretariat on 6-7 February.

Starting from the objectives of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and from the results of the WATER-HACK (the first Italian school hackathon completely dedicated to water, promoted by MIUR on September 2017), the students will work in teams and, with the help of teachers and of WWAP experts, they will elaborate the Water Youth Declaration”, to be presented at the World Water Forum in Brazil.

The objective of this important workshop is to enforce and communicate the young people’s point of view on the priorities related to water management at local, regional and global level, as well as to suggest solutions to address the challenges that are threatening our global water resources.
