The progress towards the SDG6

The world is not on track to reach Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) on Water and Sanitation by the deadline set for 2030, says the new UN report “SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2018 on Water and Sanitation”.

The Synthesis Report of SDG 6 aims to inform discussions among Member States during the High Level Political Forum that met from Monday, 9 July, to Wednesday, 18 July 2018, in New York.

This report was prepared by a UN-Water Task Force on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 Synthesis Report 2018 and WWAP coordinated the development of the report.

During the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, many events on water and sanitation were held at the United Nations HQ; WWAP has been involved in the following conferences to present the main findings of the Synthesis Report of SDG6:

•    SDG 6 – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

•    Global Progress on Water and Sanitation download the agenda

•    Water and Faith communities towards achieving SDG6 – download the agenda

•    Ensuring Intergenerational Policy dialogues for the achievement of SDG 6download the agenda

From 2 May to 14 September 2018, the findings and the report will be discussed in a multi-stakeholder setting. Participants in the public dialogue will focus on giving feedback on the report, the main messages that will be brought to the HLPF and the way forward. Join the conversation
