Webinar: Sex-Disaggregated Data Collection

Save-the-date of Webinar II

In the framework of the GEF IW:LEARN project, WWAP is organizing the webinar ‘Collecting Sex-Disaggregated Water Data: The WWAP Toolkit And Key-Indicators In Gender Analysis’ on June 8, at 9 AM EDT / 3 PM CEST.

The GEF recognizes gender equality as an important goal in the context of its projects. Based on this, the IW:LEARN project has included in its fourth cycle a gender sub-component “Promotion of Gender Mainstreaming in the GEF IW Portfolio”, with the scope of achieving increased recognition of gender issues and attention on gender equality throughout the GEF IW projects.

WWAP is partnering with WWF on the gender sub-component 'Promotion of Gender Mainstreaming'. This gender sub-component includes among others a set of six webinars that aims to provide GEF IW projects (but also the wider audience) with the elements and tools for training project staff and client country experts on water and gender issues, and learn how to incorporate gender considerations into water policies in different project contexts.

The webinar intends to introduce and explain to the attendees the innovative WWAP methodology to collect sex-disaggregated water data.  The webinar covers the following:

  • the objectives and activities of the gender IW:LEARN component;
  • the 4 Tools of the WWAP Water & Gender Methodology;
  • the application of the toolkit: a case study;
  • the fundamental role of gender analysis to strengthen water cooperation.

Please register before 7 June by sending an e-mail to l.thuy@unesco.org providing your name, surname and affiliation. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with instruction on how to attend the webinar.
