World Water Assessment Programme at Umbria Water festival

The Umbria Water Festival is a cultural and educational event dedicated to the most important natural resource on the planet. It is aimed at the general public but also includes scientific and technical meetings that face both scientists and academics, and a special area is also dedicated to school children.

UNESCO granted its patronage to the Festival confident that it provides a solid basis for the dissemination of information through diverse activities revolving around the theme of water. WWAP will be involved in the Festival, in particular in the area of school projects, aimed to sensibilize young people to the importance of water quality for their lives and in the technical meetings aimed to disseminate the early findings of the last World Water Development Report. Also, in collaboration with the University for Foreigners, WWAP promoted the first edition of the movie contest ACQUADOC, which has been launched internationally to collect movies on water. The winners of the contest have been awarded during the Umbria Water Festival.
