Almost 30 representatives of UN agencies and members of UN-Water have gathered at WWAP Secretariat to discuss the content and structure of the World Water Development Report (WWDR) 2019, on 14-15 September.

The 2 days Inception Meeting aimed at reaching a common understanding of the scope, structure and content of the WWDR 2019, and the modalities for its production.

The Agenda 2030 and the SDGs mark a new era committing to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development in a just, equitable, and socially inclusive world in which the needs of the most vulnerable are met. Universal access to water and sanitation is fundamental for these endeavors.

The WWDR 2019 working title “Leaving no one behind” aims at highlighting the issues underlying water-related goals and leaving no one behind. The Report will describe how improved water management can help alleviate the causes of human crises as well as mitigate their impacts.
