Ruby Moothien Pillay

Principal Research Scientist, Mauritius Oceanography Institute

Dr. Kamla Ruby Moothien Pillay’s research interests are mainly in coral biology, coral reef ecology, and evolutionary and population genetics. She has published several research papers, has co-authored a book on Biostatistics, and is the main author of The Field Guide to Corals of Mauritius.

She worked at the Albion Fisheries Research Centre as a Scientific Officer for 10 years prior to joining the Mauritius Oceanography Institute in October 2001, and was appointed Principal Research Scientist in April 2009.
