Back to topWorld Heritage Sites in Indian Ocean Project to be discussed at the 8th Session of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission’s Regional Committee (IOCWIO)
The Eighth Session of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission’s Regional Committee for the Western Indian Ocean (IOCWIO-VIII), is foreseen from 24–27 May 2011, in Grand Baie, Mauritius. The agenda includes:
- A presentation of IOC Draft Priorities & Implementation Strategies for 2012-2013 related to (i) Prevention and reduction of the impacts of natural hazards; (ii) Mitigation of and adaptation to climate change & variability; (iii) Safeguarding the health of ocean ecosystems; (iv) World Heritage Sites: Indian Ocean Project; (v) Management procedures and policies leading to the sustainability of coastal and ocean environment and resources, and UNESCO Chair Reports; (vi) Other Priorities issues relevant for the region.
- National Programmes and Priorities in Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, South Africa and Tanzania.
