CEUM2012 Symposium to focus on recent progress in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy
The 14th Central and Eastern European Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Symposium - CEUM 2012, scheduled on 18-19 September in Golden Sands, Bulgaria, is jointly organized by the Bulgarian NMR Centre at the Institute of Organic Chemistry with the Centre of Phytochemistry, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Bruker BioSpin, in co-operation with the UNESCO Venice Office.
The symposium will focus on recent progress in Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and offer opportunities to discuss about all aspects of state-of-the-art experimental NMR techniques and novel applications of high-resolution liquid, interface and solid state NMR. Special attention will be paid to methodological aspects and applications of topics closely related to the recently installed equipment at the Bulgarian NMR Centre – diffusion NMR, HRMAS and solid state NMR.
NMR spectroscopy is a key technology for research in the modern Life Sciences, with an increasing impact on human health. NMR Research Infrastructures (RIs) are of primary importance by offering the resources necessary to conduct cutting-edge research and support a knowledge base among a broad group of European users. The FP7-Project EAST-NMR, which responds to the new challenges facing NMR and its RIs, will play a role in this symposium and a regional satellite meeting covering advanced NMR applications in the fields of life sciences will take place on 18 September.
The symposium will be divided into 4 sessions: Session 1. Diffusion NMR; Session 2. NMR in Life Science; Session 3. HRMAS and Solid state NMR; and Session 4. NMR Perspectives in Phytochemistry. Each session will include a tutorial lecture for the given topic, a plenary lecture, an invited lecture and oral presentations. Poster session will be organized as well.
