Africa’s S&T Consolidated Plan of Action and Pan-African Intellectual Property Organization on AMCOST agenda

16 March -At its fourth conference in Cairo (Egypt) on 7-10 March, the African Ministerial Council on Science and Technology (AMCOST) examined progress in implementing Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action and in establishing the Pan African Intellectual Property Organization, among other initiatives on the continent. Participants included the African Union Commission, member states, regional economic communities, international organizations, UN agencies and civil society. UNESCO has been on the Steering Committee for Science and Technology and Bureau since May 2008 and is the only UN agency to have been nominated to these bodies. (More)
