The Conference ‘Cooperation regarding Climate Change and the Promotion of Sustainable Development’ was held on Wednesday 23 May from 10am to 5pm at UNESCO’s Headquarters during UNESCO Africa Week.
This conference was moderated by South African Professor George Philander. Speakers from Tanzania, Liberia, Algeria and Comoros analyzed certain number of crucial questions related to climate change in the African continent.
A tribute was also paid to Wangari Maathai, the environmental activist and laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize who died last year.
