Global Eco Conference

The Noosa Biosphere Reserve in Australia is host to this year’s Global Eco Conference.

This Conference annually brings together international and Australian tourism leaders to discuss the industry’s future and sustainability agendas.

Part of this year’s Global Eco event will be a Biosphere Reserve Managers’ Workshop focusing on the application of the case study methodology to presenting experience of biosphere reserves in promoting sustainable development.

The workshop will provide impetus to UNESCO-MAB’s commitment, under the Madrid Action Plan for Biosphere Reserves (2008-2013) to provide a series of case studies on sustainable development in action as a MAB contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (UN DESD, 2005-2014).

Biosphere reserve managers from all parts of the world as well as from Australia are invited to explore possibilities to attend the workshop on 24 October and also participate in the Global Eco Tourism Symposium that will follow from 25 to 28 October 2010.
