Maud Fontenoy Foundation launches new kit on ocean biodiversity

Maud Fontenoy, the IOC/UNESCO and World Ocean Network Spokesperson for the Ocean, will launch a new educational kit on ocean biodiversity this Thursday, 20 October 2011 at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris, where she will present it to 400 middle school students.

The kit was developed by the Maud Fontenoy Foundation in partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and will be distributed to 8,000 middle schools to focus on environmental issues in science classes. The students will also have the option of participating in a biodiversity projects contest.

The speakers, during this event, include Dr. Mitrasen Bhikajee, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO),  Foundation sponsor Marion Cotillard and Universcience president Claudie Haigneré.
