Ms Ruchira Kamboj the next Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO visits the New Delhi Office
Ms. Ruchira Kamboj currently Joint Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs, and India’s first women Chief of Protocol, has been appointed as the next Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO.
Before taking up her new assignment in Paris, she visited the UNESCO New Delhi Office, on 9 April 2014. Ms Kamboj was welcomed to the Office by Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, Director and UNESCO Representative, who expressed his delight in having the Ambassador visit the Office.
Following a meeting with Mr Aoyagi, the Ambassador met with the Management Team (MT) members of the Office, which included the Section Chiefs who briefly presented to her the various ongoing programmes and activities of their respective sectors, as also the future plans.
Thereafter, Ms Kamboj addressed the MT members and expressed her keenness to know more details of the various programmes once she had taken her new responsibilities at Paris and assured her support to the New Delhi Office.
