Students from Sri Sri University visit UNESCO New Delhi

UNESCO New Delhi hosted a team of over 20 students from diverse backgrounds, pursuing a certificate course on Human Development and Counselling, from Sri Sri University, Cuttack (Odisha). The prime objective of this visit was to provide the students insights into the mandate and work of UNESCO New Delhi in India.

At the outset, UNESCO New Delhi Director, Mr Eric Falt welcomed the students to the UNESCO House.   Dr. Richa Chopra, currently the Chief Counsellor at Vivechana, Counselling Centre at Sri Sri University, gave a brief introduction about the course, and then introduced the students.

This was followed by screening of a short film on ‘UNESCO’s 70 years in India’.  The UNESCO Director then talked about key focus areas and the work being undertaken by the Office in India. All participants were presented with a copy of the UNESCO in India map, as well as the information cards highlighting work of different programme sectors and their key partners.   The visit concluded with an informative Q&A session.
