EuroMAB: Ecosystem Services in Biosphere Reserves
Ecosystem Services in Biosphere Reserves from 13 to 14 September 2012 at the proposed East Vättern Scarp Landscape Biosphere Reserve in Jönköping, Sweden.
EuroMAB, the Stockholm Resilience Center, and Destination Jönköping would like to invite two biosphere reserve managers from outside the EuroMAB network to participate in the workshop for Ecosystem Services in Biosphere Reserves Sept. 13, 14, 2012 at the proposed East Vättern Scarp Landscape Biosphere Reserve in Jönköping, Sweden.
We would like to be able to spread possible benefits from participating in the workshop to regions outside the EuroMAB network as well as possibly enrich the workshop with perspectives from non-EuroMAB contexts. For this purpose Destination Jönköping is financing two travel, board and lodging costs for participation in the course.
Candidates should be biosphere reserve managers from outside the EuroMAB network, with a good command of English as demonstrated, and attested to, in a letter of motivation stating how the participation in the course would benefit their biosphere reserve, and possibly other biosphere reserves in the region.Candidates should prepare, and be prepared to give, a presentation about their biosphere reserve during their stay in Jönköping Candidates should commit to writing a report communicating the course contents and lessons learned that can be shared with other biosphere reserve managers in the region, to be completed no later than a month after the course takes place.
