MDG-F Awarded CISP for its Video on Gender
On 20-22 of June 2011, the MDG-F Secretariat hosted the “Regional Workshop for Africa, Arab States, Asia and Eastern Europe,” gathering over 200 participants from the UN system and its national counterparts to share experiences and lessons learnt.
Moreover, this event gave an opportunity for stakeholders and national counterparts to discuss about the progress towards the MDGs and the importance of national ownership of the development agenda. On this occasion, the consolidation of communication and advocacy experiences were also discussed and shared among the participants.
CISP is one of the 129 MDG-F Joint Programmes in the world, implemented in Cambodia by 4 UN agencies (UNESCO, UNDP, ILO and FAO) under the Culture and Development Thematic Window. The programme has produced numerous communication materials for advocacy and knowledge sharing. During the regional workshop, the video “Gender in the Creative Industries” was awarded third prize for Excellence for Communication through Video (amongst 79 Joint Programmes) by the MDG-F Secretariat, which is a proof that gender plays an important role in culture for Cambodian development.
The 10 minutes-video presents focus group discussions in three villages in Mondulkiri province where CISP’s beneficiaries shared their opinions on improving gender equity, enhancing women entrepreneurship development and assessing business and financial skill with a focus on women.
