Dear all journalists,

The Ministry of Education Youth and Sports in close collaboration with UNESCO Phnom Penh Office will organize a reflection workshop, supported by Korean Funds-in-Trust, from 04-06 June 2018 at President Hotel, in Battambang province, with 35 national experts of history and high school history teachers.

In the framework of the project entitled “Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and a Culture of Peace in South-East Asia through Shared Histories”, Cambodia has been selected among one of the seven countries of the Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand to implement the Pilot Project: Teaching the four units of the shared history lessons (People and Places, Early Centers of Power, Rice and Spice, South-East Asia and the World), prepared by international experts of South-East Asia History. The History Teachers selected from the two high schools (Sisowath in Phnom Penh and Sorheu in Battambang) were trained to use the materials for the piloting and the phase I of the project was successfully implemented.

The participants of the Reflection Workshop (Phase II)  will use some of the themes from the project assessment of the phase I to reflect whether the current materials were good or need adjustment for teaching (e.g. length, complexity, suitability of activities, engaging or not, need of customization by teachers ...).
