Science Film Festival 2013 in Cambodia: Sustainable Energy
1st - 20th November 2013, Phnom Penh, Kompong Thom and Kampot.
UNESCO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia, the Goethe Institute, and the Khmer Youth and Social Development (KYSD), will organize the Science Film Festival 2013 from 1st to 20th November. More than 10,000 primary, secondary and university students will have the great opportunity to learn about science and the importance of protecting our environment through the film screenings.
The Science Film Festival will be held in Phnom Penh, Kompong Thom and Kampot in November 2013, presenting 11 films by Asian and European filmmakers. Under the theme “Sustainable Energy,” this Festival will give us the opportunity to learn more about environmental issues and the importance of developing alternative energy sources as a crucial aspect to adapt to and mitigate the negative impacts derived from Climate Change. The films are all dubbed in Khmer.
The Festival will have special screenings at the Khmer Youth and Social Development (KYSD) office, on the 3, 10 and 17 November during two sessions: 9-11 am and 3-5 pm. There will be also screenings at the Metahouse. Further details will be available in the project’s website: www.goethe.de/ins/th/prj/wif/enindex.htm or at KYSD’s web www.kysd.org/.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Royal University of Agriculture on the 1st of November at 8:00 am. For more info, please contact Jamie Lee, UNESCO Communication and Information Focal Point, by email: hj.lee(at)unesco.org
