Seminar: “Sharing Good Practices in the Implementation of TVET in Cambodia”

DESCRIPTION: A policy dialogue meeting entitled “Sharing Good Practices in the Implementation of TVET in Cambodia” will be held on 17th August 2009 at the National Institute of Education in Phnom Penh.

It will be organized by Centre Kram Ngoy (CKN), a successful NGO training youth in TVET, with the support of UNESCO Phnom Penh and with the cooperation of MoEYS (Ministry of Education Youth and Sport) and MoLVT (Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training). Approximately 120 participants are expected: policy makers, international organizations, NGOs, practitioners… An exhibition to be held by relevant NGOs will be as a side event and complement this seminar and bring practical illustrations of technical training with youth in the country. On 18th and 19th August, this exhibition will be opened for anyone who is interested on TVET such students, teachers, practitioners, NGOs etc…

OBJECTIVES: The seminar is more than relevant in this time of economic crisis. It marks a focus on development of TVET with four main objectives. The first is to share good practices among agencies: public, private and NGO sectors in the implementation of TVET activities. The second is to gain better understanding on comprehensive activities of various key players of TVET development in Cambodia. The final objective is to strengthen capacity and network in the TVET and at least, promoting and raising awareness of the importance of TVET in the current socioeconomic development.

Thanks to this seminar we all expect that TVET system in Cambodia will be reinforced, and more youth will be sensitive of professional careers in those fields.
