  • Nomination call for UNESCO-Hamdan Prize 2015-2016

    The fourth edition of the UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers has opened the call for nominations.

    The prize is awarded every two years and it recognizes initiatives that contribute to improving educational practices around the world, with priority given to developing countries and to marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

    Deadline for nomination: October 31, 2015

  • Call for nominations: 2015 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes

    It’s official! UNESCO is launching the call for nominations for the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes for 2015. Every year, the prizes are organized around a specific theme. This year’s focus is on: “Literacy and the post-2015 agenda”.

    Governments of Member States and Non-governmental Organizations in official partnership with UNESCO are invited to submit their nominations. The Prizes consist of the UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize and the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy, generously funded by the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China respectively.
