Launch of the Capacity Development Programme ‘Planning, implementing and monitoring innovation in education’ in West Bank and Gaza

In coincidence with the start of the new school year, the Ministry of Education, with support of UN agencies, launched a Capacity Development Programme as part of the implementation of the first phase of the UN/MoE package to support the development of Inclusive and Child-Friendly Programmes from Early Childhood to Adolescence .

80 MoE officials at the central and district/directorate level -including education planners and educational supervisors- were trained on planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating early childhood development and inclusive & child-friendly education programmes.

The workshop aimed at responding to some of the main challenges of the Palestinian education system, preparing the MoE for implementation of innovation in education, and providing ideas and guidance for senior education planners and managers on how to design an education system that will offer equal access to quality education for all Palestinian children.

A strong, competent and effective Ministry of Education is a pre-requisite for the development of sustainable and affordable quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes and access to quality Education for All (EFA).
