The new UNESCO Regional Office in Abuja covers eight West African countries, namely Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Togo. In the case of Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana it supports the UNESCO national offices in these two countries. Some 15 staff work in the UNESCO Abuja Office.
