UN holds the Seminar ‘The United Nations Organization and the International Development Cooperation’
UN System, in partnership with Rio de Janeiro State Government organizes the Seminar ‘The United Nations and the International Cooperation for Development’, on 16 June, from 10:00 to 18:00, in Rio de Janeiro State Government Pavilion, at Parque dos Atletas.
The Seminar agenda includes Aula Magna on Sustainability, as well as six sessions on aligned themes of Sustainable Development Dialogues for Rio+20 Conference. The event will count on the presence of specialists of the UN System Agencies (UNEP, UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, UN-HABITAT, ITU, ILO), of the Brazilian Federal and State Government Institutes, besides civil society representatives.
The Seminar aims at sharing the visions and identifying challenges on sustainable development context. The Seminar will also focus on reinforcing the United Nations System’s commitment to establish partnerships to develop actions on the following themes: Sustainable Development and Poverty Eradication; Unemployment and Decent Work; Communications, Technology and Innovation; Humanitarian Response and Risk Prevention; and Sustainable Cities.
The event is open to the general public.
