Buenos Aires hosted the first regional ministerial meeting within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 4 – “Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning”.
The meeting was organized by the Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Republic of Argentina. The meeting was attended by ministers of education and representatives of multilateral organizations in the region.
Through a space for constructive dialogue between Ministers for Education and other education stakeholders, the main objective of the meeting was to inform the region about E2030, its targets and its Framework for Action and agree upon a common vision of E2030 in order to define strategies and programmes, at the regional and national level, for its implementation until 2030.
