Morocco- SOS Children’s Villages

The Moroccan SOS Children’s Villages offer children without family support, (orphans of one or both parents, abandoned or in danger), the chance of growing up in a real home with adopted brothers and sisters and a so-called SOS mother.

Having witnessed the work of the SOS Village of Dar Bouazza near Casablanca, where UNESCO financed certain structures in 2000, funds were again provided for a fourth SOS Children’s Village to be constructed in El Jadida. A library, pottery workshop, arts workshop and multipurpose classroom are now to be constructed, furnished and equipped. Furthermore, the running of two courses of informal education for 60 children is being implemented this year and next. The school will also welcome disabled children, offering them a place to live and carry out educational activities.
