From 19 to 20 November 2009, the European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR) organized its third annual conference in Toulouse (France) under the theme: “Cities against Racism: New Challenges - New Partnerships: Shaping our Future”.

The Conference was intended to identify best strategies that cities can adopt to counteract racism and discrimination on the basis of the “Ten-Point Plan of Action” of ECCAR and also by taking into account the international economic and political context.

In order to present examples of strategies and actions implemented by European cities and in order to share experiences and stimulate discussion the following four working groups were organized :

Working Group 1: Implementation of the Ten-Point-Plan of Action against Racism
Presentation of Practical Examples: Combating Discrimination in Employment and Housing

Working Group 2: Implementation of the Ten-Point-Plan of Action against Racism
