Commemoration in the UN system

The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an occasion for the international community to reflect upon the situation of human rights and to make efforts to eliminate the obstacles to their implementation such as poverty, under-development, marginalization, instability, hunger, lack of access to health care, discrimination and intolerance.
