Mongolia
Implemented activities:
- Introduced and checked the operation process of prison No. 461, which works under the General Office for Implementing Court Decisions of Mongolia.
- Organized an Open Day on Human Rights in the Tuv province.
- Organized a Consultation Meeting “Against Torture” for crime registrars and investigators on 25 June 2008.
- Organized a Theoretical and Practical Conference “Legal provision against torture” on 26 June 2008.
Activities to be implemented:
- Conduct a research in detention centers, working under the General Office for Implementing Court Decisions, located in Darkhan-Uul, the Orkhon provinces and the Baganuur district.
- Organize an Open Day on Human Rights in Gobi - Altai and Zavkhan provinces.
- Organize an Open Day “Children - our future” in the children’s prison No. 411, working under the General Office for Implementing Court Decisions.
- Encourage the activity for joining the amendment protocols of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
- Organize a training “Struggling against torture and International standard for prisons” in the women’s prison No. 407 of the General Office for Implementing Court Decisions.
- Elaborate and compile an evaluation questionnaire for students “Temperature of students’ rights in schools”.
- Produce and distribute a manual for prisoners on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- Organize an essay competition among students on “The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”.
- Publish and distribute to the public a special edition of the journal “Human Rights” in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- Publish and distribute public posters in the Mongolian language on “The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”.
