  • 10 December 2008: a Youth Human Rights Festival will be organised in the city hall of The Hague and the surrounding buildings. Approximately 3000 participants from the age of 15 to 25 will attend this entertaining and educative event. It will include music, dance and stand-up comedy shows, a Model UN Human Rights Council, debates, movies and many other activities.

  • September-December 2008: As part of the festival, a human rights education project "My rights = your rights" is organized. This is an initiative of Platform Mensenrechten Educatie (Platform for Human Rights Education) in cooperation with the Foundation 60 jaar UVRM (60 years of the UDHR).   • 10 December 2008: The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs will award its first “Human Rights Tulip” to a human rights defender, during a ceremony in The Hague. More ...
