9th Meeting on New Philosophical Practices

For the fourth consecutive year on the occasion of World Philosophy Day, the Meeting on New Philosophical Practices took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, from 18 to 19 November 2009.

The meeting offered a space for debate open to all persons interested in the practice of philosophy and particularly the learning of children to philosophize. This practice of philosophy aims to be accessible to the largest number in a wide range of places, namely in primary and secondary schools, hospitals, prisons, cafés, in popular universities, multimedia libraries, in theatre or cinemas, in companies and organizations, and so on.

In the course of the two days, experiences of different philosophical practices were shared. Round tables, communication and research workshops, film projections, editor and association stands will be organized.

The event was co-organized by the Association Philolab, the IUFM of Créteil (Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maîtres / Academic Institute for Teacher Training) and the Sciences Humaines magazine (website in French).
