Algeria formalizes its contribution to UNESCO’s Emergency Fund
On 27 April 2012, H. E. Mr. Missoum Sbih, Ambassador of Algeria to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO handed to the Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova a check for 5 million euros, representing the contribution of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria to the Emergency Multi-Donor Fund.
Ambassador Sbih expressed his country’s commitment to UNESCO and confidence in the Organization’s actions, and especially the efforts of the Director-General to reform the Organization. Irina Bokova thanked the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika for his support and praised his determination and efforts for the modernization of Algeria. She confirmed UNESCO’s mobilization to support the Algerian government in all new projects to strengthen cooperation between the Organization and Algeria.
