Our vision of oversight is to help the Organization deliver a meaningful and relevant service to its stakeholders.

We do this by combining a compliance function (i.e. adherence to our rules, principles and procedures in audits and investigations) and a change management function, by conducting significant audits as well as evaluations. Our evaluations and audits review the efficiency, effectiveness, impact, relevance and sustainability of UNESCO’s operations and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Our priority is to help the Organization mitigate its risk of not delivering effective results. In the coming years our focus is to help streamline operations to maximize our impact and help concentrate UNESCO activities on our core business in the cultural, education, science and communication fields.

We pledge to do this with the highest degree of professionalism and respect for our clients and are committed to deliver a high value added to the Organization in a transparent way, internally and externally.

Our investigations assist in promoting the highest standards of international civil service.

We strive to maintain exceptionally high standards and test ourselves continuously with existing best practice standards in the field of audit, evaluation and investigation. To deliver, we are proud to be able to count on an exceptionally well -qualified, motivated and experienced staff.

If this fails, we will pack our bag and go home and do something more meaningful, because life is too short and UNESCO’s mission too important.
