UNESCO signs a cooperation agreement with Russian News Agency RIA Novosti
On 29 September 2010, during her participation at the ‘World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education’ (WCECCE) in Moscow, Russian Federation, UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian news giant RIA Novosti, represented by its Chief Executive Officer Svetlana Mironyuk.
“I am delighted with this new partnership, which will help us spread UNESCO's message and news of its activities and programmes around the world in 13 languages,” stated Irina Bokova.
Under the agreement, RIA Novosti will support the diffusion of information about UNESCO’s activities and programmes. The agreement also foresees joint organization of events on UNESCO related issues and facilitation of access to both parties’ media materials.
"This partnership with UNESCO is a great honour for our agency," said Chief Executive Officer Svetlana Mironyuk. "Ria Novosti fully subscribes to the high principles that UNESCO champions."
