H.R.H. Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND), was appointed as UNESCO Special Envoy for Water in recognition of his contribution to sustainable development in his native country, regionally and on the international level, in addition to tackling the issue of water scarcity through AGFUND and its affiliated institutions and organizations.
Prince Talal has dedicated his life and work to alleviate the suffering of the poor in the developing world, particularly women and children. The noble roles of H.R.H. Prince Talal have identified him as one of the leading philanthropists in the world and one of the most distinguished Arab personalities. He is known for his outstanding contributions in the field of development, particularly sustainable human development.
