Training workshop to strengthen capacities of community radios in Kenya

UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa is supporting Mwanedu FM Radio Station to carry out a workshop on 14 to 16 March 2013 for 10 radio staff members from Mwanedu FM and Radio Mangelete in Voi, Kenya. The training aims at enabling participants understand Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) management and successful entrepreneurship; learn and build capacity on how to package content on income generating activities; develop and disseminate information and knowledge on SMEs; create linkage of community experts on local entrepreneurship; and, build capacity on content development on agribusiness as an enterprise.
UNESCO has helped facilitate this training owing to its continued effort of strengthening capacities of community radios in Kenya. The support granted to Mwanedu FM radio to conduct this training is within a three year project funding by UNESCO and SIDA.
