Kenya National Archives and Documentation Centre through the Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture is organizing the 22nd Session of the Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ESARBICA) in Nairobi, Kenya. UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa is taking part in this biennial event as part of promotion of the Vancouver Declaration adopted by the participants of the International conference “The Memory of the World in the Digital Age: Digitization and Preservation” held in September 2012.
At this conference, ESARBICA executive board meeting will be held concurrently with the pre-conference seminar and will be attended by young and upcoming archivists and records managers. Thematic topic of general concern in the region and emerging issues will be discussed by world’s renowned experts and also professional papers.
This conference is held every two years in member countries. Kenya is hosting the General Conference for the second time since 1969.
