Training of Journalists in using Media Toolkit for reporting on peace and reconciliation.
Northern Uganda Media Club (NUMEC) through the support of UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa (Nairobi, Kenya) will carry out a 3 days training workshop for 20 journalists – reporters, presenters and news editors - from Lango sub-region of Northern Uganda on how to report on peace and reconciliation using the media reporting toolkit.
The training will cover a broad spectrum of topics such as conflict sensitive journalism, gender sensitive reporting, guidelines for peace journalism, media law and safety of journalism reporting on peace and conflict among others.
This training is part of UNESCO’s capacity building initiatives in the region and falls within the framework of UNESCO’s intersectoral and interdisciplinary programme of action on the culture of peace and non-violence.
